Hospital
The USC
University Hospital is constantly pursuing the latest in technology
services to assist in the treatment
and care of their patients. When wireless networking was in its
infancy, USC University Hospital created the concept of providing
their doctors with “real-time” access to patient history, diagnostic
and treatment data. Working together, USC University Hospital and the
staff at TSM designed and implemented the wireless infrastructure to
successfully move the project from concept to reality. This project
allowed the medical staff to use wireless pen-based computers to
track, diagnose and treat their patients while automating the billing
process in real-time. The wireless networking infrastructure included
over 20 access points, covering multiple levels and spanning across a
three building campus. The overall result was an improvement in
patient care, increased patient record management, reduced back-office
costs and an overall enhancement in hospital efficiency.
Four Points Sheraton LAX
The Four Points Sheraton is a 617 room business-class hotel located within minutes of the Los Angeles World Airport (LAWA).
Because of their dynamic location to the airport, the hotel sustains an
occupancy rate of over 99 percent every day. The Four Points Sheraton selected
TSM to design a solution that would provide High-Speed Internet Access (HSIA) to
the guest rooms,
conference rooms and public spaces throughout the property. This project
required several elements to be in place: minimal occupancy interruption,
“Plug-and-Play” access and wireless integration (this proved to be a difficult task when working with a cabling infrastructure of over 50 years old). TSM utilized high-speed vDSL technology over the existing voice cabling to provide access to guest rooms that also allowed for minimal occupancy interruption. Wireless Internet access was also installed to provide enhanced meeting room and public area coverage as well as redundant access in the Executive Level guest rooms. By implementing this solution, the hotel gains in market competition, increased revenue generation and overall guest satisfaction resulting in future occupancy revenue.
LA Treasury
The LA Treasury was seeking a private source to evaluate its internal processing procedures and recommend a more efficient means of communicating between different platforms within the department. TSM partnered with the LA Treasury and inserted itself within the processes of the department. After several weeks of analysis and communications with management and staff, a Technology Assessment / Master Plan was created. By documenting the procedures and communications utilized over the past 20 years (Technology Assessment) we were provided the “means” to transition into to 21st century (Master Plan). We found were they were today, created the vision for tomorrow AND developed the transition to move from one to the other.
